Recommended sand sources

We regularly verify that our list of potential sand sources can provide a natural, medium-grade, clean sand. Sand consistency can change with the source, the environment and handling.

Sand specifications should always be validated on site by the licensed septic contractor to make sure the sand meets our specifications before it is used for backfill with T&J Panel systems. If you have any concerns or questions, call our office at (704) 924-8600 before installation.

Sands dredged from rivers and creeks can be used if the gradation is suitable for blending into ready-mix concrete. Acceptable products include, but are not limited to, natural concrete sand, NC-2S sand, ASTM C-33 sand, FA-10 sand and Grade “A” sand.

Sand sources were verified at the time of inspection. Due diligence should be followed to make sure the sand used is a clean, coarse, naturally occurring sand that closely matches a C-33 or 2-S gradation.
